World of Plumbing and Gas Pty Ltd is owned and operated by Director David Haydon. David first completed his Plumbing apprenticeship in Taranaki, New Zealand at the age of 21 with the local Plumbing company Houghton’s Plumbing, Heating and Gas. He continued to gain experience with the company for 4 years until 2008 when he decided to uproot his life and move to Perth, Australia.
David’s first job in Perth was working for a Perth Building company in the plumbing division. Starting as a plumber/gasfitter, David then quickly moved to carry out quoting, scheduling and overseeing the project plumbing work. After 3 years of office work and getting the feel and experience of running a business, David then decided it was time to take the plunge and start his own business. Before 2011 ended, World of Plumbing and Gas was born.
First starting as a sole trader in 2011 with just David, World of Plumbing and Gas, or WOPAG as we are commonly known by our peers, started servicing friends and family. As work was starting to pick up outside our circle of family and friends we brought on our first apprentice in 2013. Momentum was gained through other trade contacts and we then received some consistent jobs through various Perth builders and real estates which extended our portfolio not only known as your next-door plumber but also as local tradesmen servicing residential and commercial projects in and around Perth. To make sure that we provide exceptional services and install quality plumbing and gas fixtures and accessories, we only source our bathroom, laundry and kitchen amenities from trusted suppliers like Reece Plumbing and Tradelink, renowned businesses that promote professionalism and excellent craftsmanship.
After the birth of David and his wife, Lisa’s first baby in 2014, Lisa casually joined the team in the office during her maternity leave, helping out with administrative work and handling some accounts to take the pressure off of David. Fast forward to 2020 and World of Plumbing and Gas Pty Ltd now has David and Lisa, plus 2 experienced and licensed tradesman and our apprentice.
From here on, we’ll continue developing our trade to make sure that all our servicing and installation projects are done efficiently and up to standards. Driven by professional and quality service, we promise to provide reliable plumbing and gas services on top of excellent customer service.
